WHY MOST PEOPLE DRAW RED FLOWERS WITH GREEN STEMS.
A child attends his first day at school, and the teacher says,
“Today we are going to draw a picture.”
The child is happy and starts to draw a house.
“Wait”, says the teacher, “we are going to draw a flower.”
So the child starts to draw with a yellow crayon.
“Wait”, the teacher says again, “I am going to show you how.”
The teacher then draws a red flower with a green stem.
The child likes his own flower better but remains quiet.
He draws a red flower with a green stem, just like the teacher’s.
The next day the child comes to school and the teacher says,
“Today we are going to model clay”.
He demonstrates how to make dish. The child copies it. Soon the child learns to listen, wait, watch, and do things just like the teacher.
Then the child moves to a new school.
On the first day the teacher says,
“Today we are going to draw a picture.”
The child sits and waits. The teacher wanders round the room looking at what the children are drawing.
“Don’t you want to draw?” the teacher says to the waiting child.
“Yes” the child says, “but what shall I draw?”
The teacher says, “I don’t know until you start it.”
The child replies, “But how shall I draw it?”
The teacher says, “Any way you want.”
So the child begins to draw
A red flower with a green stem.
